Privacy policy

Exosphere is a family organiser. This policy explains what the Exosphere apps and server process, why, and what choices you have.

Last updated: 24 October 2026. This text describes how the software handles data. It is a good-faith summary, not legal advice.

Who is responsible

Exosphere runs on a server operated by the person or organisation that set it up for your family (the operator). The operator decides what happens with your family's data and is the first contact for any privacy question or request.

InterstellarForge builds the software. We do not receive your family's data unless we are also the operator of your server.

What we process

Account: your name, email address and profile picture from Google sign-in.

Family content: calendar events, tasks, lists, chores, rewards, reminders and settings you or your family members create.

Photos and videos you upload, kept inside your family.

Face data: only for people who choose to enrol on a kiosk. A numeric face template is stored so the tablet can recognise that person. It is not used for anything else.

Device data: model, battery and free storage of paired phones and tablets, plus a push notification token.

Technical data: sign-in sessions and limited server logs needed to keep the service secure and running.

Why we process it

To provide the features you asked for: sharing a calendar and lists, sending reminders, showing a personal kiosk view and playing your photos.

To keep the service secure, for example by limiting abusive requests and keeping each family's data separate.

Who else sees it

We do not sell your data and we show no ads.

Google: sign-in, and your calendar only if you choose to link it.

Firebase Cloud Messaging: delivers push notifications to your phone.

Open-Meteo: weather and place lookups use the location you configure.

Home Assistant: only if you connect your own instance.

Where it is stored and for how long

Family data is stored on the operator's server and, for photos and settings, on paired tablets. It is kept until you or the family administrator delete it, or until the family is removed.

Removing a family member also removes their face template.

Your rights

You can ask the operator to access, correct, export or delete your data, and to restrict or stop processing it. If you are in the EU or UK you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority.

Family administrators can delete members, photos and devices from within the app.

Children

Children may use Exosphere under the supervision of a parent or guardian. The family administrator controls which members and devices exist and what is stored about them.

Security

Connections use HTTPS, sessions are protected, each family's data is isolated from other families, and sensitive actions on the kiosk need an owner unlock. No system is perfectly secure, so please keep your devices updated.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy in a meaningful way we will update the date above and, where possible, tell you in the app.

Exosphere

A calm home base for the whole family.
